One of the most satisfying aspects of running MotorMartin is when you get to follow a story from its very beginning, watching the people involved get better and better reactions from the those within their field of expertise and the public embracing their ideas through increased sales. I’ve been keeping an eye on MG Motors UK and have noted how they are slowly building upon the success of the original MG6 by giving an already good car a recent facelift, upping the specification and dropping the price so that it offers even greater ‘real life’ values. And now similar changes have been announced for the already popular MG3.
Indeed MotorMartin has been told by MG that MG Motor UK has surpassed four years of sales, making this September its best to date, through strong offers available both nationally and in regional MG dealerships.
Further help to customers is that MG’s 0% finance offer on the MG3 and MG6 is being extended until the end of the year, but it’s not the only offer around for customers. Those looking for an exclusive deal should check out their local MG dealer as there are plenty available. Some dealers are currently offering not just a 0% offer over five years, but zero deposit on both models as well.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “It’s worth customers popping into their local dealers and seeing what they can do for you. Our dealers are always running our national deals, but they have their own spot-deals too which can make our range even more affordable than it is.”
In figures released by The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited (SMMT) earlier this month, MG saw a 43% increase on September sales from last year with this year’s sales already more than 30% up from last year.
Matthew Cheyne added: “We’re really pleased to see that our figures are continuing to increase and that more and more customers are re-discovering the MG brand and all that it has to offer.”
MotorMartin can only see a bright future for MG Motors UK especially as they announced yesterday that MG’s trendy MG3 has just got even better with the introduction of new technology; designed to give better economy and lower emissions. What’s especially pleasing is that the issues of economy and emissions were highlighted as areas of concern in a number of reviews when the MG3 was released yet here we are, MG have listened, had a think, and sorted the problems. Refreshing doesn’t even cover it!
The MG3 2016 MY (model year), which will be available to buy next week, offers customers better fuel consumption, lower tax and an updated personalisation range; which includes the launch of new combinations and roof colours. The supermini, which now benefits from a more economical 124g/km of CO2 and a stop-start EU6 engine, also comes with a new chrome grille to complement the MG family face.
Customers who are looking to make their car even more unique, and really stand out from the crowd, will be pleased to hear that the MG3’s Red Rose and Hello Yellow paints are now available with selected roof colour combinations; white or black.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing for MG, said: “The MG3 has continued its success from the day it launched in 2013 and, with all that it offers, it’s easy to see why so many people have fallen for our fun-packed and stylish supermini. Now we’re giving customers a little bit more, with the addition of some great features, but still keeping the price low; making it great value for money and setting us apart from our competitors. Those looking to give their car additional style and edge will love our new roof combinations, as they give customers the opportunity to mix up the personalisation options even more.”
The MG3 EU6 is the latest car to be launched from the Longbridge site and demonstrates the continued innovation emerging from the Birmingham based manufacturer.
Customers can choose from the four models available, all priced as nicely as the car itself: MG3 3Time (from £8,399); MG3 3Form (from £9,599); MG3 3Form Sport (from £9,899); MG3 3Style (from £10,499); and MG3 3Style Lux, which comes with the addition of leather seats (from £10,999). The MG3 2016 is available on 0% finance, so book a test drive at your local dealer now and find out what this much-loved supermini has to offer. Each model has a decent amount of technology which makes the buying decision even harder.
MotorMartin is set to review the current MG3 in the next few weeks which will allow for a realistic ‘real life’ comparison with the revamped MG3 as soon as it becomes available.
Where will you go?
