As a long term fan of motorcycling and the Fireblade in general, it was very exciting here in MotorMartin Towers when the following arrived on the rather overcrowded newsdesk up in the darkest recesses on the top floor.
Honda have announced to MotorMartin that a new finance offering for its Fireblade range sees the new Black Edition available for just £99 per month. Excellent value for a sports bike that still looks absolutely fantastic in MotorMartin’s opinion.
The move, MotorMartin has been told, marks a maiden MCE British Superbike Championship victory for Honda rider Jason O’Halloran and an impressive Honda one-two finish at Snetterton aboard the CBR1000RR Fireblade.
This superb new Fireblade Black Edition joins the Honda supersport line-up, alongside the standard ABS model, track-focused CBR1000RR SP and a strictly limited Fireblade TT Special. It offers a host of dark refinements, including a special edition smoked screen (27mm higher than standard), Gilles brake levers with Honda etching and Galfer front wavy discs. Also fitted, as standard, to the Black Edition is a colour-matched seat cowl and carbon fibre hugger. And yet Honda have still managed to price the Black Edition very competitively at £12,199 OTR.
As Nick Campolucci, head of motorcycles at Honda explained to MotorMartin that, the BSB victory signals the perfect time to introduce a celebratory offer for Fireblade customers:
“We unveiled our two Fireblade special edition bikes at the opening BSB round, at Silverstone, earlier this year. Dan Linfoot and Jason O’Halloran paraded the bikes in front of race fans so it seems fitting that we give something back to customers, to mark this spectacular result.”
As well as the Fireblade Black Edition, a very small number of TT Special bikes remain in dealer circulation. If you can find one, it comes complete with TT tri-colour paintjob and a whole host of race-inspired extras including a MotoGP-style Akrapovic exhaust, limited edition black Gilles FX levers with Honda Racing etching and Gilles MotoGP lever guards. It also features Gilles TCA chain adjusters – including paddock stand lifters – and crash pads, as well as Galfer stainless, laser-cut wave discs. The TT Special Fireblade is priced at £16,999 OTR.

So there you have it, now could be the perfect time to fill that Fireblade shaped space in the garage with the standard model or either of those highlighted about. Personally, I love the look of the Black Edition.
Where will you go?
