In somewhat of a first for those of us working up here in MotorMartin Towers, it’s finally time to celebrate news from one of the more underrated manufacturers out there in the world of ‘real life’ motoring. So without further ado and perhaps a little later than necessary it’s time for MotorMartin to celebrate some good news arriving on the top floor from Isuzu.
So here we go then, Isuzu have recently informed MotorMartin that the new generation D-Max arrives in the UK this Spring and customers can now register their interest in the new truck.
Isuzu have confirmed to MotorMartin that their D-Max has been extensively overhauled with the biggest changes coming under the bonnet where a brand new 1.9 litre turbo diesel engine has been fitted, which produces 164 PS and 360Nm of torque. The engine builds upon D-Max’s workhorse character and retains the 3.5 tonne towing capacity and 1 tonne payload whilst providing a quieter, more refined and economical driving experience. Another key benefit is that the new engine meets Euro 6 standards without the need for addition of AdBlue.
As per previous D-Max models, MotorMartin has been told, Shift-On-The-Fly 4×4 is a key feature of the 17MY truck with the rotary dial allowing the driver to select four-wheel drive on the move as well as low range gears. A nod to practicality that other manufacturers would appear to be now be picking up on.
Finally, the D-Max, rather impressively, comes with a five-year / 125,000-mile warranty and was the first pick-up in the UK to be offered with such a comprehensive peace-of-mind package. Running costs are kept down by 12,000-mile or 24-month service intervals, five years recovery and European cover, a three-year paint warranty, and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty and that’s got to be worth looking into.
Where will you go?
