With the new season of MotoGP™ almost upon us it’s about time that some of the the more unusual aspects of life as part of Honda’s Factory Repsol team should be explored. One such assignment for Honda’s triple MotoGP champion Marc Marquez has been an opportunity to test a unique new kind of motorcycle, by piloting the Honda X-ADV through the snow of the celebrated Hahnenkamm mountain in Kitzbuehel, Austria. Lucky bloke.
Honda have explained to MotorMartin that their X-ADV is where the comfort and convenience of a scooter meet the spirit and riding performance of an adventure motorcycle as it mixes rugged SUV style with premium specifications, thanks to a tough chassis, long travel suspension, four-piston radial-mount brakes and a torque-laden 745cc twin-cylinder engine driving through Dual Clutch Transmission. It is also equipped with a 5-level adjustable screen, underseat storage space for an off-road style helmet, hand guards, Rally-style instrument display, centre stand, and the Honda Smart Key system. Pretty much everything you could possibly need.
Having already ridden his RC213V MotoGP machine through the snow of one of the world’s most famous ski slopes, It was then Marquez’s next mission to try out the new X-ADV – complete with spiked ‘snow’ tyres – on a course more usually ‘ridden’ by world champions of a different sporting discipline.
The video of his exploits, kindly shared by Honda with MotorMartin from their own YouTube channel, can be seen below and is well worth a view.

Fortunately, Marquez’s ride in the snow on his incredible RC213V-S is also available to view and has been shared with MotorMartin below.
Where will you go?
