As regular readers will know, MotorMartin Towers is rather awash with sports car fans, especially of those sports cars that hail from the more recent past. There’s just something that raises the blood pressure when looking at a car as special as a Jaguar XJ220 in the flesh and is an experience that everyone should have at least once.

And now a few more of you will be able to experience that same rush of excitement when close to the car of your dreams as on Sunday 16 July 2017, the general public will have the rare opportunity to get close to exclusive supercars and see them in action at the famous Brooklands Museum in Surrey. Incredible.

“Developed over the last four years, this exciting event always enjoys an impressive turnout of supercars from the Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini clubs, while previous highlights have included the world’s fastest Bugatti Veyron, ‘Twiggy’s’ lime green Lamborghini Miura, a McLaren M650S and Jaguar XJ220,” explained event organiser Phil Ward to MotorMartin recently.

“Supercar Sunday is hugely popular not just among serious car enthusiasts, but also with anyone interested in seeing high-value supercars up close and in action on the Test Hill and the Mercedes-Benz World test track. As always, our aim is to keep entry prices low and provide entertainment for the whole family in the friendly, approachable atmosphere of Brooklands. This year, highlights include a historic F1 and F3000 demonstration.”

Historic Brooklands have shared with MotorMartin that there is easy access via London’s arterial motorways and it is conveniently located just within the M25. As well as the supercars and live action, it has excellent aviation and motoring exhibitions that include the Concorde Experience, 4D cinema and London Bus Museum. Recent redevelopment at Brooklands includes a new display area on the restored start and finish straight.

The event has proved to be popular with car clubs that put on complementary displays for members and also take part in the Test Hill runs. Owners of supercars are invited to contact the organisers for an opportunity to take part in the track demonstration and the hill climb.
