Regular readers will know that MotorMartin has been following the resurgence of MG Motor UK for quite some time now, testing both the MG6 and the excellent MG3 over the course of the last couple of years whilst the new MG GS SUV will be arriving at MotorMartin Towers in early December and is a car that is very much looked forward to.

And now to be added to that list of events to savour is the the launch of MG’s new Compact-SUV which marks an exciting new era of design for the iconic company. The brand-new Compact-SUV is set to go on sale later this Autumn, representing a major step-change for MG.

MG Motor UK have explained to MotorMartin that their new design philosophy is based on ‘Emotional Dynamism’, which represents a more expressive design language that emphasises the premium nature of MG’s latest model. The contemporary look harmoniously brings together the three key elements of ‘Emotional’, ‘Humanised’ and ‘Agility’ that accentuate the car’s desirability, accessibility and dynamic stance and in MotorMartin’s opinion, looks superb.

One of the key design features is the compelling new face for MG, which features an enlarged, full frame grill, which was inspired by the famous brand’s heritage, but executed in a contemporary way. It allows for a much bigger MG badge to take centre stage and showcase pride in the brand.

Carl Gotham, Design Director of SAIC European Design Centre, shared with MotorMartin: “It’s a really exciting time for MG as it starts to roll out its new brand identity. Emotional Dynamism brings to the fore a premium feel to the new Compact-SUV with exceptional attention to detail throughout, such as the distinctive detailing on the ‘eye’ headlights and signature tail lights. It has a level of detailing and range of impressive features you would not expect to find on a car of this size or price.”

MG Motor UK have confirmed with MotorMartin that they will be revealing more about the brand’s new design direction closer to the full launch of the vehicle, which goes on sale this Autumn.

The all-new Compact-SUV will join the highly-praised MG3 and MG GS at a time when the iconic brand is recording an outstanding sales performance in 2017. Its sales were up by nearly 83% year-on-year in August, driven by its well-established, simple and transparent scrappage scheme.

MG Motor UK is championing consumers by providing them with exceptional choice, excellent value for money and a hassle-free buying process.
