News: MG PLEDGES FURTHER GROWTH FOLLOWING AFTERSALES SUCCESS

It’s been quite a year for those hard working folk over at MG Motor UK, with an ever expanding dealer network, the recently launched all new MG ZS SUV and year on year increased sales, MG are certainly on a role at the moment. It was no surprise therefore to see that MG Motor UK has pledged to further grow and invest in aftersales care, following such success.

At its annual aftersales conference held at the iconic Coventry Transport Museum, the company celebrated 12 months of country-wide success, and shared with MotorMartin plans to build further in 2018 and beyond.

Delegates from across its 80-strong dealer network heard that MG parts sales were up 62% year-on-year in the year-to-date, while accessories sales were also maintaining momentum.

As well as celebrating top performing dealers, including Summit Garage in Dudley, friends of MotorMartin Nathaniel MG in Bridgend and Cardiff, Browns & Gammons in Baldock, Apple MG in Gravesend, and Maple Garage in Hull, the conference focused on ongoing training for dealers, including soft skills courses for non-technical staff.

MG have revealed to MotorMartin that it is to launch a series of How-To guides for dealers and technicians to manage any MG vehicle issues, as well as introduce a range of new comprehensive training programmes.

It also announced that it will continue with the quarterly campaigns in 2018 to help dealers to upsell accessories. The packs will be grouped into themes, such as Vehicle Protection and Styling Personalisation.

Harvey France, spokesperson at MG Motor UK, explained to MotorMartin that: “Aftersales is a crucial aspect of our business because keeping our customers happy is key to our success. We’re very pleased with our 2017 performance and will be working hard to maintain this strong growth next year and beyond. We’re proud of our professional aftersales teams and we’ll be working closely with every individual to ensure they can access the very best training programmes that will help them to drive the MG brand forward.”
