This exciting story caught the eye of the #MotorMartinMotorCycles desk as it involves the fantastic V-Stom and the exciting sounding inaugural Welsh Road Race, both items of great interest up on the top floor of MotorMartin Towers. Suzuki has agreed to supply a fleet of V-Strom 1000 marshal bikes for use at this year’s Welsh Road Race, which takes place from 3-5 August near the Brecon Beacon National Park.

The versatile adventure bikes, Suzuki say, will be used by marshals and medics at the event, which sees road racing return to the region after a 55-year hiatus. The three-day meeting will run on the original roads of the Eppynt Motorcycle Road Races, staged between 1948 and 1953.

With the V-Strom 1000 specifically selected for its ease of use and practicality, with carrying capacity for the required equipment of event staff, Suzuki has agreed to provide eight machines for the races this summer.

Phillip Morris from the Welsh Road Race organisers, commented to MotorMartin recently, “We are extremely grateful to Suzuki for the generosity and support in agreeing to supply machines for the Welsh Road Race in August. The V-Strom 1000s will be used by the six travelling marshals and two event doctors, and they are the perfect motorcycles for the task.”

Suzuki GB marketing manager, Rob Cooper, added, “We’re delighted to be able to offer our support for the event later this year. We have enjoyed great road racing success as a brand, most recently, of course with Michael Dunlop in last year’s Senior TT on the new GSX-R1000. But we also recognise the important roles marshals and doctors play at these events, and by providing a fleet of V-Strom 1000s, we will be equipping them with the right tools to do their jobs.”

Suzuki’s V-Strom 1000 and V-Strom 1000XT are currently available as part of a new low-rate finance offer, which allows customers to choose between a PCP or hire purchase deal, as well as the term of the agreement and an APR to match. For more information MotorMartin recommends you click here.
