OK, so this is really exciting. The first Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation car – part of the forthcoming Aston Martin DBZ Centenary Collection – is beginning to take shape and the office here at MotorMartin Towers is becoming more and more excited as Aston tease with more and more information.
The original car was built to race against Ferrari in the 1960’s, the DB4 GT Zagato evolving from the rigours of motor racing and blessed with a stunning silhouette, just 19 were built.
Aston Martin have shared with MotorMartin that they will be relying on the unrivalled knowledge and expertise of their team at Aston Martin Works meaning that the 2019 DB4 GT Zagato Continuations are to be meticulously crafted, staying true to those original Zagato-bodied DB4 GTs produced by Aston Martin and Zagato in the 1960’s.
Paul Spires, President of Aston Martin Works, explained to MotorMartin recently that: “We are bringing all of our hand-craftsmanship and expertise to bear in building these nineteen Continuation cars, sympathetically incorporating the very latest engineering advancements and performance enhancements, but remaining true to the purity and authenticity of the original design. After the unprecedented success of the DB4 GT Continuation cars, we are once again bringing to life in the 21st Century the stuff of Aston Martin folklore.”
MotorMartin can’t wait.
