Mitsubishi have shared with MotorMartin recently how their new L200 Series 6 is now on sale in the UK, setting new segment standards for style, refinement, safety, efficiency and all-round capability.

The Mitsubishi L200 has been a popular sight on Britains roads for a number of years now and it could be said, is responsible for the popularity of the pickup truck over here. Indeed, Mitsubishi first brought their L200 to these shores way back in 1982, the original model staying for the next four years before being super-ceded by the upgraded model and so on and so forth. All of which means that the current L200 Series 5 has now been updated and morphed into the Series 6, a pickup that continues to allow a near enough perfect mix of work and pleasure. With more than 4.7 million units built since its debut in 1978, this new L200 builds on Mitsubishi Motors’ 40-year history of building tough and dependable pickups.

Starting at just £21,515 for the entry level L200 4Life Club Cab, the Series 6 has been engineered to be the best pickup Mitsubishi Motors has ever produced with car-like levels of refinement and state-of-the-art safety systems. Creating, in Mitsubishi’s opinion, the perfect solution to motorists looking for the practicality and versatility of a pick-up without compromising on comfort, driving pleasure or running costs.

The Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 also makes advances in terms of its pickup capability with an increased payload of 1,080kg and gross train weight of 6,155kg, plus a significantly upgraded 4WD system. Under the bonnet, a new Euro 6d compliant 2,268cc turbo diesel engine and a new six-speed automatic transmission help deliver lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency resulting in significant fuel savings in the real world.
