News: MORE THAN 800 FORDS AT BEAULIEU’S BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND RALLY

Over the years, MotorMartin has had the good fortune to have had a 2.0 Laser Capri, 1.6i Orion Ghia, Mondeo and Focus sat on the drive here at MotorMartin Towers at one point or another and as such, it’s always particularly satisfying when new Ford news arrives. Further to https://motormartin.com/2016/02/17/simply-ford-sunday-1st-may-2016/ posted recently, MotorMartin has the following additional information.

A staggering 800 Fords are already booked to take part in Simply Ford at Beaulieu this weekend (Sunday May 1st) with even more owners expected to join the rally with their treasured cars.

MotorMartin has been informed that tickets are selling fast for this hugely popular event in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, open to every age and model of Ford, from Cortinas, Zodiacs and Anglias to Mondeos, Focuses and Transits. For a day out that will appeal to Ford fans and family visitors alike, Simply Ford is an unmissable event.

Owners’ clubs and enthusiasts groups are at the heart of Simply Ford, with 38 clubs booked to display their members’ cars on club stands, from the Electric Orange ST Club and Ford Probe Owners’ Club to West Country Fords and the Wiltshire Classic Ford Club.

Show regular Ford Heritage will display a selection of cars from its prestigious historic collection. On an ‘old and new’ theme, a preserved 1965 Mustang will be parked alongside the brand new version of this legendary muscle car, while an early example of the Focus RS will be displayed with the latest incarnation of the model. Now that has got to be worth travelling for.

Visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourite car of the event in the People’s Choice Award, with the owner of the winning vehicle receiving a commemorative Beaulieu trophy and Autoglym prize.

For rally participants arriving in a Ford, entry to the Beaulieu grounds is from 9am, when the Brabazon Restaurant will be serving drinks and breakfast bites. Participant tickets are £10 for an adult and £5 for a child and can be bought on the day, or in advance on 01590 612888 or www.beaulieu.co.uk/events. MotorMartin would certainly recommend checking out the above website as this event is selling out fast.

All other visitors should enter Beaulieu via the main reception at normal Beaulieu attraction admission prices.

Don’t forget that for friends taking part in the show with more than one Ford vehicle, please ensure that you all arrive at the same time if you wish to park together.

As well as the rally itself, Simply Ford are keen to point out that admission includes access to all of the Beaulieu attraction and that you really shouldn’t miss the National Motor Museum’s new Driving Change display, which explores motoring innovations, technology and safety throughout history and makes motoring predictions for the future. Visit On Screen Cars and the World of Top Gear, take a stroll around the Montagu family home Palace House and grounds and the historic ruins of 13th century Beaulieu Abbey.
