Of the many posts on MotorMartin regarding the reborn MG brand, the overwhelming impression that you’re left with is of a company that wants to succeed, a company that is willing to listen to its customers’ feedback and act upon it. A company that is putting in the hard work to create and build a range of good looking, practical, well specified cars that offer superb value for money.
Here in the UK, MG Motor UK launched back in 2011 with the 1.8T Petrol MG6 in both hatchback and saloon body style before introducing a diesel version at the end of 2012. The smaller MG3 was then brought out with a peppy 1.5L petrol in September 2013 finally allowing buyers and MG fans, some welcome choice. With both cars receiving well thought out, mid life revamps last year and the quiet dropping of the MG6 saloon, MG now offers two very different cars that you’d be proud to have on your driveway. MotorMartin’s reviews of both the MG6 and MG3 can be found at https://motormartin.com/tag/mg/ as well as the latest MG news and are well worth a look.
With the UK’s fastest growing dealer network and motorists ranking both the MG3 and MG6 within the top five in their respective vehicle segments in this year’s Auto Express Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, MG Motor UK is currently on a role.
The next step in MG’s evolutionary path though is rapidly approaching. It’s widely acknowledged, by people far more in the know than MotorMartin, that the modern SUV is currently the fastest growing sector of motoring, with vast numbers being sold Worldwide. Indeed, recent additions to the ever expanding range of SUVs on offer to the consumer come from brands such as Bentley and Jaguar with even Rolls Royce set to be arriving in the not too distant future.
And now the countdown is on as MG Motor UK have informed MotorMartin that tomorrow they will be unveiling their all-new SUV to the lucky attendees of the London Motor Show.
MG announced in October last year that it was the first volume manufacturer to confirm attendance at the London based car show and the British brand decided that this was the perfect platform to unveil its new SUV, the MG GS.
Following a tour around the UK in the form of augmented reality, members of the public attending the Battersea Park show will get the opportunity to get up-close and personal with the real MG GS. MG hve also shared with MotorMartin that they will be announcing further teases about the car at the event, which is sure to generate more interest in this exciting new model.
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing for MG, informed MotorMartin that: “Next week will be a really exciting moment for us, as we’re getting closer to launching this fantastic car into the market. Members of the public are finally getting the chance to get their hands on the UK model and see for themselves what an outstanding car this is.”
“We’re extremely proud of the GS, so we’re looking forward to unveiling it and speaking to attendees of the event about how easily it will fit into their lifestyle. I can assure potential customers that it will be consistent with the MG-family pricing strategy.” Which as followers of MG will know, means that the new MG GS will represent extremely good value for the consumer.
Those attending the motor show will see MG’s latest range in the central display area in Battersea Park. Tickets are £15 and the event runs from Friday 6 May until Sunday 8 May.
Don’t forget that if you want to receive updates on the MG GS, find out when the new brochure is available or when you can get your hands on a GS, register your interest on the MG website www.mg.co.uk/gs.
