It’s good to see that MG Motor UK dealerships are reaching out into the communities they work within and encouraging people onto the forecourt with a range of interesting ideas. It’s this kind of interaction with the public that MotorMartin finds so refreshing in the increasingly corporate and soul less larger car supermarkets that are becoming more prevalent. Therefore, the news that Outwoods Primary School year six pupil, Deya Kidder from Burton upon Trent, has been announced as the winner of MG dealership TL Darby’s ‘Up on the Roof’ competition should most definitely be celebrated by all involved.
The contest, which received more than 80 entries from eight schools within the area, asked pupils to come up with a design that would be featured on the roof of the MG GS. Deya, who has just finished her final year at Outwoods Primary School, visited TL Darby to see her winning design in the flesh, adorning the roof of the car which now sits pride of place in the showroom.
In addition to having her design, which shows a lion’s head on the backdrop of the Union Jack, featured on the new car, Deya’s family will also get to use the vehicle for a whole weekend as part of her prize.
Jessica Liptrot, Marketing Manager at TL Darby, shared with MotorMartin recently that: “We pride ourselves on being a big part of the local community, and our ‘Up on the Roof’ competition was very much part of this commitment. It was fantastic to see so many wonderful entries from the children, but Deya’s design was a worthy winner. We’re excited to hand over the keys to the MG GS, the perfect vehicle for a family weekend, and hope Deya’s family thoroughly enjoy putting it through its paces. We also wish Deya the best of luck entering year seven in September.”
Matthew Cheyne, Head of Sales and Marketing at MG Motor UK, commented to MotorMartin that: “TL Darby had a fantastic response to the competition and it was a real pleasure to see such enthusiasm from the local community. Congratulations to Deya on having her design chosen to feature on the MG GS.”
Available in a range of six striking colours, with spec and tech to match, the roomy interior of the MG GS is great for families who need a vehicle with acres of luggage space. The range starts from just £15,095, while the top of the range, my own personal favourite, the MG GS Exclusive is available from just £19,595.
