News: SUZUKI DOUBLES UP AT AUTOTRADER AWARDS

We like to celebrate success up here on the top floor of MotorMartin Towers especially so when it comes to a company that works as hard as Suzuki to continually strive to produce what they see as the best compromise between track and road for the modern motorcyclist. It gives us great pleasure to therefore announce that Suzuki picked up two awards at this year’s AutoTrader awards ceremony, with the new GSX-R1000R and new V-Strom 650 both celebrated.

Suzuki have confirmed to MotorMartin that their all-new GSX-R1000R collected the accolade of best new sports bike for 2017 and that the new superbike boasts a plethora of MotoGP-derived technology, including a clever variable valve timing system that helps the GSX-R produce class-leading torque and a formidable mid-range, without sacrificing its top-end power.

It also gets, Suzuki say, a full suite of race-proven electronics, with an IMU monitoring all elements of the bike’s data to manage a 10-stage traction control system, launch control, and a system that prevents rear wheel lift under heavy braking. There’s also an up and down quickshifer and auto-blipper, plus cornering ABS.

Also new-for-2017, the V-Strom 650 was awarded best adventure / trail bike. The V-Strom gets traction control for 2017, plus more power and torque. There’s also practicality included with optional integrated luggage and a 12V DC outlet.
