Having already driven the all new 508 it’s no surprise to MotorMartin that the all-new PEUGEOT 508 and PEUGEOT e-LEGEND Concept Car were voted the best looking cars at the 34th International Automobile Festival held on 29 January 2019 in Paris, they are rather lovely after all.
According to PEUGEOT, the all-new 508 took home the coveted “Grand Prix” award for “Most Beautiful Car of the Year 2018” with 34% of the votes. The award is one of the highlights of the International Automobile Festival, with the public voting to choose their favourite from a selection of shortlisted models. Rivals for the 2018 award included the Fiat 500X and Range Rover Evoque.
In addition, the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND was crowned “Most Beautiful Concept Car” at the Festival. Unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the PEUGEOT e-LEGEND marked the brand’s vision for the future of mobility.
PEUGEOT have explained to MotorMartin how their all-new 508 was launched in 2018 and has become an instant success across Europe, with 10,000 vehicles already ordered. The all-new PEUGEOT 508 is inspired by the PEUGEOT Instinct Concept, including its opalescent vertical LED light signature. The back of the car also stands out with sharp, full LED 3D PEUGEOT signature ‘Claw Effect’ lights, complete with a gloss black rear cluster connecting strip.
The “Most Beautiful Car of the Year 2018” award is the second design accolade the all-new PEUGEOT 508 has won, following carwow’s “Most Stylish Car 2018” award late last year.
David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK commented to MotorMartin that: “For the all-new PEUGEOT 508 to be named “Most Beautiful Car of the Year 2018” at The International Automobile Festival is a great honour, especially as this is an award coming from the car-buying public. The all-new PEUGEOT 508 is the latest addition to our range, and this recognition gives us great encouragement for the future.”
“Going forward, PEUGEOT is constantly working towards providing the latest tech and innovative designs in the industry, and our e-LEGEND Concept shows what we can achieve in the EV sector. We have a big few years coming up for EVs, and for our electric concept model to be recognised as the “Most Beautiful Concept Car” of the year is a great first step on this journey.”
