News: ORDER BOOKS NOW OPEN FOR ALL-NEW PEUGEOT 208 AND e-208

Good news for Peugeot fans as order books for the all-new PEUGEOT 208 and e-208 opened on 22 August, with deliveries starting in early 2020.

Peugeot have confirmed to MotorMartin that since April, buyers have been able to place a refundable £500 reservation on limited 208 and e-208 models; the GT Line 1.2L PureTech 100 S&S 8-speed automatic (EAT8), 1.5L BlueHDi 100 S&S 6-speed manual and the 100% electric e-208.

The all-new 208, Peugeot say, is available in Active, Allure, and GT Line trims, while the e-208 comes in Active, Allure, GT Line and range-topping GT specification. Prices for the all-new 208 and e-208 start from £16,250 and £25,050 respectively in Active trim. Prices for the e-208 include the Government Plug-in Car Grant, worth £3,500 at the current level. This is subject to formal approval by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), which we anticipate will be received in October 2019. OLEV reserve the right to alter or withdraw the Plug In Car Grant at any time.

It’s been confirmed that on Personal Finance Lease, the all-new PEUGEOT e-208 in Active trim will start at £289 per month for a 48 month contract, with a customer initial rental of £5450 and an optional final rental of £8978*.

The all-new 208 can be ordered in Active trim with a £700 customer initial rental and £229 monthly payments as part of a 48 month contract, with a final £6138* optional final rental.

Company car and fleet users can also take advantage of the all-new 208 and e-208 as Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rates stand at nil for the all-new e-208 across all trim levels from April 2020, while the all-new 208 sees BIK rates start from just 22%. This makes both the all-new e-208 and the all-new 208 one of the most affordable choices for company car and fleet users, with BIK rates below key rivals.

The all-new e-208 uses a 50kWh battery and 136hp electric motor to provide a 211 mile range from a full charge under WLTP testing. The all-new e-208 will be displayed for the public at the CarFest South motoring festival between the 23 and 25 August, helping to raise funds for a number of children’s charities, including BBC Children in Need.

David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK explained to MotorMartin recently that: “We revealed the all-new 208 and e-208 in March and it has seen a fantastic reception from both the public and the press. From April, customers have been able to reserve selected all-new 208 and e-208 models with a refundable £500 deposit, but we are now very excited to open the order books across the whole model range on 22 August.”

“The all-new 208 is the first vehicle in PEUGEOT’s line-up to fulfil the company’s new philosophy of ‘choose your PEUGEOT, choose your powertrain’. The 208 is also the first model to meet PEUGEOT’s promise of offering electrified variants across its entire model line-up by 2023.”
