News: BEST Q1 SALES EVER FOR DACIA UK

We like good news up here on the top floor of MotorMartin Towers and rate Dacia very highly for there mix of practicality and price so it’s no surprise to hear that their popularity continues to grow with UK car buyers six years after launching and achieving their best Q1 sales result ever. Indeed, figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders confirm that for the first three months of 2019 Dacia sales totalled 10,926 – up 52 per cent in comparison with the same period in 2018.

For the month of March, Dacia recorded sales of 7,443 vehicles– up 86 per cent on March 2018, considerably outpacing the UK car market and its best March result since launch. Dacia increased its retail market share to 2.69 per cent, an increase of 1.2 per cent on the same period in 2018. Impressive.

Commenting to MotorMartin, Ben Fletcher, Head of Dacia UK, said: “With the full All-New Duster line-up now available as well as recent high-profile award wins, Dacia is going from strength to strength. By providing the most affordable new cars on the market as well as our simple line-up and proven reliability the British public have really taken to Dacia’s no-nonsense approach to motoring.”

A little history for you now straight from Dacia themselves: Since the brand’s launch in the UK in 2013, Dacia has won numerous awards including What Car?’s ‘Best Small Car under £12,000’ for seven consecutive years for the Sandero and ‘Best Small Hatchback’ for Sandero in the Honest John Satisfaction Index. Dacia was awarded the title of ‘Best Value Brand’ in the Auto Trader New Car Awards in 2018 and named as the most recommended car brand in a YouGov survey, beating 34 other manufacturers. In the UK, over 140,000 Dacia models have been sold since its launch.

Since relaunching to continental Europe in 2004, more than 5.4 million Dacias have been sold globally. In 2018, Dacia sold 700,798 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 7 per cent. Sandero is still the most popular vehicle for consumer sales in Europe while Duster ranks as the most popular SUV for retail sales in Europe.
