There are many aspects of motoring that appeal, putting your foot to the floor, watching the revs rise, hearing the engine note change and feeling the acceleration kick in is a pleasure that we can all access no matter what car we drive. Finding the perfect road, matching revs to gears to corners so that the tarmac never gets boring whether you're travelling at 20 or 60. It’s the road, conditions and speed limits that dictate. The simple pleasure of a long drive to somewhere new, a different town, section of coast, even a different country perhaps. All made possible by the cars we drive. And then there’s me, a 46 year old Primary School teacher working in inner city Bradford. So what’s that got to do with motoring and car reviews? An idea on the A1, possibly around Grantham, led to the creation of www.motormartin.com, a ‘real life’ motoring blog that focused on the car itself rather than lap times, a blog that wanted to see if the car you wanted was good for shopping or commuting, a blog that still recognised that ‘real life’ motoring should also be fun in the bends. And with manufacturer support, press car access and links with the SMMT (Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Trade) there is now an ever expanding internet presence, social media links and MotorMartin in print. Happy days. Where will you go?
